Challenging MND

About the cause

Alex Gibson has been working at AIG for over 13 years, in capital management. A qualified chartered accountant, Alex’s main area of concern has been that of stress testing and capital forecasting for both UK and AESA. Alex graduated from Loughborough University with a first class honours degree, and a Masters in Forensic Science from Kings College London, his interest in sport, health and fitness led him to become a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist and Personal Trainer. Alex sporting career has seen him represent Great Britain in the Decathlon as well as play National 1 rugby.

Given the meticulous attention Alex paid to his health and fitness, it was a complete shock to be diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2018. After a short period of coming to terms with this enormous challenge he has been presented in life, he selflessly wanted to help the MND community. Fast forward to present day and Alex is the chair and founder of the charity Challenging MND, raising funds through extreme challenges to help MND sufferers make those precious memories with their loved ones. He recently extended this help to those who care for MND community to enable some respite. The opportunity to recharge their batteries and go again is vital for quality care and  ongoing compassion. Please give however much you can so Alex can maintain his quest to raise the profile of the disease MND and support the MND community.
